Title: MAME video problem
Post by: Mikezilla on January 04, 2011, 03:01:25 pm
Every time I start a game, MAME doesnt keep the video settings to what I want to fit the screen. It keeps adding side art, or it changes the resolutions etc. Anyone know how I can make all games start in 4:3 aspect ratio without bezel art and have it stay that way? I keep having to change it every time I play a game. Luckily I had my keyboard/mouse out because I was configuring my FE. I dont want the mouse or keyboard to be seen. Thanks for the help in advance.

How about making your mame.ini file read only?

Delete your config files in that folder.  That may help.  It may not so it may be easier to back them up or rename that folder first.

Also if you don't want the art work... you could always just rename/delete that folder.

Did you get this resolved?

Yes I did, thank you Hoopz! I did what Cot said, and just renamed the artwork folder as something else, and it prevented it from doing that. I appreciate your concern!

I have a new problem now though. I have a laptop that I connect my expansion HDD to, I work on configuring HS, and trying to get NullDC to function at work, and when I take it home, MAME is really slow and a little choppy and I dont know why. It works better on the damn laptop than it does on my mame PC, despite the fact that the mame PC is better. Not to mention when I put the HDD on the MAME pc the first time, it ran flawlessly.
