Title: Advice on scanning a CP
Post by: IG-88 on December 06, 2010, 06:19:29 pm: I am looking for a Black Tiger CP overlay and it seems that no one carries a repo. So I was wondering how hard or what is involved in scanning an overlay that is already attached to a panel. Is it even possible?

Post by: newmanfamilyvlogs on December 06, 2010, 10:18:20 pm: Take all the hardware off of it, lay an open flatbed scanner on it, scan, move, repeat. Then those 'tiles' can be stiched into a single image. I can help with that.

Post by: newmanfamilyvlogs on December 07, 2010, 09:42:56 am: Pretty much. You won't know exactly how well it'll work on the round until you do it. Some scanners will surprise you with how good an image they will take on a curved surface. others are just lame.

If we can get a good scan of this I think it will be a nice addition (for me :)) and the community. From all the searching I've done so far there have been quite of few people looking for them. :cheers:

Post by: IG-88 on December 09, 2010, 05:32:53 pm: Ok. Got the scanner out and I'm ready to go. Couple of quick questions. What type of file should I save this in? (jpeg, gif or bmp) Also I think it can go up too 1200 dpi in "picture scan" mode. Is that going to be good enough?

Thats good, cause just one I did last nite was almost 400mb.

It's now looking like Sunday afternoon before I can get back to this tho. :banghead:
