Any one know a place to have monitors repaired near Danville, PA. I have 2 Maybe 3 that don't work and I am just not brave enough to attempt to fix them my self.
Thanks for any suggestions.

What make/model monitors? There are a few I'm set up here to repair, but it involves mailing the chassis to me.
-
Wasn't really looking to ship it anywhere, but thanks for the offer. Isn't it expensive to ship something that heavy and delicate?

Peale was talking about the chassis -- the circuit boards, not the whole monitor.
You discharge the monitor (not a big deal, no matter what folks say), disconnect the chassis from the tube and the frame, pack it well and mail it off.
That's how it is done most of the time.

Yup - chassis aren't that expensive to ship generally.

I've never discharged a monitor before, (and I hear it's scary). What is the process?

It's only scary if you get zapped and your pacemaker stops.

OK, just incase any one else in the Danville, PA area is looking I found a place in Bloomsburg, PA that repairs monitors. I called him this morning and he said it would be 75.00 plus parts for most jobs, some need to be sent away and then it would be 125.00.
Just curious, (not that i have much of a choise at this point) is this a fair price?

Depending on the monitor I'd do it for $75 plus parts.

I'm not too far from you - about 60 miles. Don't have any time to fix my own (and monitors aren't my specialty anyway) so I can't help but since you are somewhat local (my wife drove to Danville for 6 years for work) if I can help out on some other areas in the future let me know.

that is a very good price. theirs a guy in AL, who charges $85.00 OR $125 if the flyback needs to be replaced. Also, Monitorboss.com does it for around the same price.
Main thing is this. Most shops will in fact do everything that they tell you. Recap, flyback, replace nessecary resistors, and other parts, for example like the R811 in the wells gardner u2000,
But i dont know of a shop that will guarantee a bad tube.
I got unlucky, and i have a 100% rebuilt chassis, with a bad tube, so be prepared for this, if it happens.
As for sending out the whole thing, it is just simply not worth it for shipping cost, as well as the fact that many shipping company folks who actually work on the trucks in the field, will simply roll your box down the stairs to your door.
also, one last thing i would like to mention.
If somebody out there, could possibly amend the picture tube crossover reference that ive had for years, with the various brands and model # tvs that shipped with those tubes, that would be GOLDEN.
I have scoured the local ads here for over a year, calling on just about every 25" tv that is for sale. ive pretty much stopped calling now, since most of them are actually 27" or 24" or even one dumbass who listed his 40" as a 25" for $40. Needless to say, i bought that one and use it for my old consoles.
