Hello, all-
Been reading this forum for about four years and read Saint's book about 30 times (literally), so I finally decided to it.
But, looks like I missed the bus. Called every CRT manufacturer in existence and looks like the world stopped producing the CGA/EGA/VGA tri-syncs. Shame, as I was pretty excited about going native in these old games. Guessing the next best thing is getting a VGA and keeping it there across the board. So first question: Is anyone doing the VGA thing and if so, is it passable? I'm thinking its probably good enough..
Another thing I'm not too sure on is the shift function on the IPAC. This acts as a normal key as well correct? My current plan is to have the left pinball key double as a shift button. Just wondering if that is even possible.
Appreciate the years of support.

There may be a very limited number available soon.

Would it be possible to have that posted somewhere on the site when they are available so that we can get a heads up to get these for our projects?

It's possible you could find a suitable tube and do a chassis swap, I think.
This guy did it. http://www.junknet.net/tube-swap-diy-part1 (http://www.junknet.net/tube-swap-diy-part1)
Also, if you're looking for a chassis, these guys carry a bunch, including a "universal chassis". Might call them and make sure it can handle CGA http://www.jomac.net.au/parts.htm (http://www.jomac.net.au/parts.htm)
Alva amusement also carries a universal chassis that's supposed to do 15, 24, and 31k. http://www.alvaamusement.com/id5.html (http://www.alvaamusement.com/id5.html)
Something to check into. Disclaimer: I've never done this, haven't used any of the companies listed, so i don't know about their reliability. Also, be careful of the high voltage lead on the monitor. It's dangerous.
