Not sure if this is the correct message board to post this, but couldnt really find a better match.
I searched this forum but couldnt find an answer.
Anyway, I removed a sticker from an old cabinet and it left behind some very thick sticky glue.
I removed the sticker with a heat gun, and it was easy.
I tried the heat gun on the residual glue, but it doesnt seem to be working. I also tried acetone but it doesnt seem to work either. Sanding it is removing it, but it is slow, and the glue slicks the sandpaper over.
Any suggestions on how to remove this crap?

Have you tried "goo gone" and a razor blade to scrape?

No I havent. But I may, I just gotta go out and buy it.
I tried WD40 and a scraper, it seems to be working but it's a lot of work.
I soaked it down good and am letting it set for a while, to see if it gets easier to scrape.

Goo gone is the stuff that I use to remove labels from beer/wine bottles (I brew my own) and then just scrape them down with a razor blade. Obviously scraping glass is easier than wood but give the goo gone a try. :)

use white spirits or turps. they both work well at removing the sticky residue left behind by labels and stickers.
