Can anyone tell me how to fix this need a backslash error I get when running mame? Cant find a fix anywhere. and yes I looked in their forums also.
-
can you explain this a bit more, please.....so anyone can help you.
-
OK, decided to try out HS as is more flashier. Got all roms in their place. Told HS where to look for mame. When it runs I see all roms in the wheel but when you select one it says "make sure your path has a backslash at the end" nothing else. No rom works.
I opened the mame.ini but dont see where it needs to go. here...
[exe info]
path=D:\Arcade\mame\
exe=vmame64.exe
parameters=
pcgame=true
winstate=NORMAL
hyperlaunch=true
[navigation]
last_game=xmcotaj
I did put a \ after vmame64.exe but that didnt work.
-
i believ if you use hyperhq to set your mame paths, willbe alot easyer....
-
well that's what I did. I'm not trying to circumvent this but HQ didn't help me and manually doesn't work.
-
THis doesnt look right to me:
D:\Arcade\mame\
Shouldnt have a backslash in the beginning. Should be:
D:Arcade\mame\
I'd even try this:
D:Arcade\mame
-
so did it work that way? i dont understand.
-
ok, well I know for a fact tht the drive letter needs to have the \ but i tried it anyway and nothing worked. I also changed the vmame64 to mame and same error happens.
-
Ok, here's the ACTUAL fix for this error...
-In ..\Hyperspin\Settings open up the MAME.ini
-Paste this in it replacing what was already in there
[exe info]
path=D:\Games\Emulators\MAME\
rompath=D:\Torenti\roms\
userompath = false
exe = mame.exe
romextension = zip
parameters =
searchsubfolders = false
pcgame = false
winstate = HIDDEN
hyperlaunch=false
[filters]
parents_only=false
themes_only = false
wheels_only = false
[themes]
use_parent_vids = true
use_parent_themes = true
animate_out_default=true
reload_backgrounds=true
-Replace the paths that are in BOLD
Run and test...it worked for me.
Replace mame.exe for vmame64.exe if you're using the 64 bit version (or any version of mame so find out the .exe for your mame emulator)
