Title: Convert me to MA..
Post by: releasedtruth on August 20, 2010, 07:35:54 pm
Alright, I think I like what I see with MA, but haven't gotten it quite as tailored as I'd like. I've been a GameEx guy for over 4 years and it's handled things very nicely, but I like the menu setup on MA a lot. With updates for MA stalled out, help me with some good reasons to put down the money on a switch. Thanks

I was in a very similar situation not long ago, here is my thread - maybe it can help you decide.

I bought it ;)

Even though I'm mostly not using it anymore (I've opted to use Hyperspin for my cab), I still would buy it again.  Great piece of software, I would highly recommend playing with it and changing settings to see how it goes.

some pcs have a tendency to not save settings on maximus, if your pc does this.. I would recommend not buying it. Most other things can be fixed, but I had a desktop that would erase maximus settings.. randomly.  It was annoying and wasted a bunch of time. Other than that, it runs great.

I tried a version of it in the past 6 months on another pc, but don't think I quite got it set up correctly. I seem to remember having trouble with Daphne and PC game launching. I'll try it again this week and see if I'm any smarter (unlikely)

I definitely agree with setting Daphne up. I likely wasn't as good at that when I tried. Maybe I'll have to build a nice theme for it. Does it support .avi previews? Never got the .flv versions.
