Title: Jrok multi-williams wiring help
Post by: TBullet on August 11, 2010, 02:30:00 pm
I'm just about to start wiring my board and need to ask a couple of questions.

I know each joystick and button connector needs a ground wire. Can I get away with daisy chaining the wiring from button to button? Will this work out correctly? Then I would have a common ground for everything.

I know all the other buttons need to be wired directly to the jamma harness.

Can anyone post a pic of their wiring the board for reference sake?

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Yes you can daisy chain the ground.

Another question: Crimp the connectors or crimp and solder the connectors?

Thanks.

You normally just crimp them, never seen them soldered. Personal preference/experience but crimp usually holds up really well if you crimp it tight.

A good crimp is always better than crimp and solder.

I never solder quick disconnects, but I will occasionally solder and crimp Molex pins (my skills aren't that mad yet).

Thanks for the suggestion. I have a crimper and will use that.
