I just traded for a set of Rock Band drums for the Wii and I'm trying to get it to work to no avail. The problem comes from using USB Loader GX and a hacked IOS I assume. So I googled the issue and from USB Loader GX's FAQs "Install cIOS38 v12 or greater." So I installed v17 after reading a 22 page post that verified it wasn't as crappy as the last few releases and the drums still don't work.
I do not want to use any other loader other than USB Loader GX.

I've only been familiar enough to know that it had issues in the first place. I would've assumed they corrected any problems by now regarding it.
Did you check the gbatemp.net forums?

Everything I've been able to find on the issue is too long winded and technical for me to understand. Note that I consider myself pretty smart but I'm not up to date (nor do I care to be) on all the Wii lingo and programs that are available... I just want this to work with as little effort as possible.

I just want this to work with as little effort as possible.
In that case might I recommend uninstalling the mod and buying a legit copy of the game ;D

That's crazy talk!

Have you tried installing Hermes and setting usb loader gx to boot RB with hermes IOS rather than winin's cIOS?

you have to install a custom IOS for it to work google "merged ios 222 223"
it's a PITA to setup, but once it's done you don't have to worry about it ever again. i run all the games with the custom 222 ios with little to no issues.
