Title: Aimtrak troubles while running emus in fullscreen
Post by: haplo on May 29, 2010, 06:04:23 pm
I am having trouble getting my aimtrak module working properly with epsxe and zsnes. The aimtrak tracks fine when these emulators are launched on a desktop window. If I launch them fullscreen then the aimtrak malfunctions. Specifically the cursor goes nuts. It moves erratically while stuck around the screen borders. The only exceptions to this has been MAME and Freezesms. With these the aimtrak works fine in fullscreen. It also tracks fine as a cursor in my Windows XP desktop. I re-calibrated, tried different usb ports (made sure they are well powered) but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Aimtrak's utility sensor view tab reports a healthy red dot (no line of sight or external lightning issues).

Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions how to troubleshoot it? Thanks in advance.

It seems something epsxe and znes related. Do they work ok in fullscreen with a mouse?

Thanks for the reply. With a normal mouse yes. As soon as I use the aimtrak the cursor stops working.

I re-checked before posting this message and it turns out I was wrong. The aimtrak fails to track with epsxe and zsnes regardless if the emulator is in windowed or in full screen mode. The cursor moves erratically while clamped around the window's borders. Like you said the problem seems to be software related.

If anyone cares: I found pSX and snes9x to work fine in fullscreen with the aimtrak module. In pSX's case there is this quirk where you may need to start a game in a window before switching to fullscreen.
