Title: do you own a metal dance pad?
Post by: Shieldwolf on August 01, 2003, 03:16:56 am
If so, which one? do you like it?  I've done some research and some people think they are utter crap, that in order to have a good metal pad you have to make your own ( i can't do that) so if you know of a good alternative let me know.

I built one.  Used the plans from http://www.geocities.com/ddrhomepad/ (http://www.geocities.com/ddrhomepad/) (beware of popups).  Works great, its much easier than building a cabinet and doesnt take that long.  Used the Ipac instead of hacking a PS2 controller, and the pad hooks into my cabinet through a network cable, so I can unplug it easily.

I haven't taken pictures to put on my cabinet page yet (no digital camera), but will sometime.

There are some good metal pads going for $125 on ebay right now.

If you can BYO, though, the quality can't be compared.. faster action + far more durable + customizable..
