My latest project isn't really playable as such, but it is functional:

Thats is one cool clock i want one.
-
Love the clock! Love the use of Lego for the spacers!
-
Sick dude. I remember a while back someone posted something like this - did you write the software yourself?
Awesome stuff.
-
the most awesome 2 player game in history (in my mind) and its not playable!
-
I didn't write the software. There are several different versions floating around, but I found this one to be the best. It runs as a screensaver and can be configured while running with a right click:

Note that the better version 2 is at the bottom of the page. Direct link: http://www.funnypolynomial.com/software/windows/PongClok2.zip (http://www.funnypolynomial.com/software/windows/PongClok2.zip)

Well... You could always get the playable version and try to keep the time with it.
I gotta figure whoever is on the left would give you a pretty hard time about only scoring once on every one of your 60 though. :)
Awesome clock though.
What kind of laptop was it? Was it just some old piece of junk that you had long replaced? Did you seek out a cheap one for this project?
I can't imagine the screensaver requires much in the way of specs, so I may go in search of some old piece of junk to turn into one of these.
Excellent work on yours, though mine would definitely be displayed more prominently. Wife gets no say when it comes to the placement of my future pong clock. :)

It's a Dell Latitude D600, circa 2002. It no longer worked on battery, had a busted hinge, and you needed to press down on the keyboard to get it to turn on. It was ready for being re-tasked! It is much more dignified in its retirement.

Very creative. Love the framing and lego spacers!
Of course, I love just about any project taking essentially junk and turning into something decidedly non-junk!
Cool!
-
Great project :applaud: :applaud: Love to see old PCs put to good use. ;D
-
That's awesome! I had plans to do something similar with an old Sony Vaio laptop (PIII 500 or so) with all sorts of cosmetic and functional issues, then got distracted by a cab build. I might have to take another look.
-
I really dig the Pong clock. It would be interesting to know the power consumption of it though. I do love my technology but keeping in mind the economy and the environment are also on the mind these days...
-
Holy cow!!! That is such an awesome idea! :applaud:
-
Dell 505 and 510 are old business laptops, and you should be able to find quite a few floating around.
-
Very nice!!
I have an old digital picture frame, I wish I could re purpose it somehow.
-
exfellent result from recycling laptops and lego!
I love that screen saver in the seconf pic. It looks so real ;D
-
Where did you get the frame from?...I'm trying to build one but havent found a frame thats deep enough.
Thanks
-
I got the frame at framesbymail.com. The deepest one I could find is SKU# 49-25. Here is a direct link:
