The MiniGrip's in this Arcade1up I turned into a Mame cab. I also added a spinner.
It's a good solution that lets me play all those games that require a spinner, trackball, twin stick, flight stick or combination of all of them, like Assault, Discs of Tron, Battlezone, Mad Planets, Forgotten Worlds etc

After five years, I'm back! 
Has anyone managed to fit a circular or octagonal restrictor plate onto the MiniGrip?
I've now got it in a cabinet where I'm playing games like Mad Planets and Forgotten Worlds, but the sharp 8-way corners are clunky as hell.

Since your previous restrictor mod was drilling out the mount holes on a Zippyy/LS-32 restrictor, have you looked into modding an LS-32 restrictor like one of these?  Not sure if the last two will work on the MiniGrip, but the Triple should work with the same mods you did on your previous one.

If you have access to a 3d printer, you might try modding these restrictors, either by printing the .stl and drilling it out or by modifying the .dxf or .step files.

There’s a lot of cross-over between this and x360ce to be fair. However, for me at least, I got fed up of x360 constantly deleting settings and never really getting to grips with the per game configs. Never had any such problems with W2X.

Another key benefit is not only being able to map multiple devices to single xinput bindings (which you can also do with x360) but then with any of those individual devices also being able to map multiple buttons from them to a single xinput outputs- which you can’t do in x360 (it will clear a binding if you try to map elsewhere on the same device - see my crazy taxi example above). There’s also I believe benefits of being able send FFB to multiple devices which I’ve yet to explore.

Thanks for everyone's efforts on this - especially bbegin - it is exactly what I need for my next project. This is my first attempt with a raspberry pi, I'm working through it and learning a lot. I *almost* have it working working as needed, but I do have a few issues that I could use some help with if anyone has any ideas:

1. MAME is working except the screen is rotated 90 degrees clockwise?

2. I'm using AttractMode with the SDArcade layout theme, but it is rotated 180 degrees?

3. On AttractMode I don't see any artwork. I did not use the automated 'scrape' functionality, I manually copied the art images from a USB  drive but they do not display. I can't seem to find where the config is to verify I have the correct file path?

I've blocked resolution change for 31kHz monitors. If you ever lose display, you're in trouble solving things on your own. What's the real question in fact ? You have no display ? Or you wanted to change the resolution ?
