I am not sure why but with Virtua Cop 2 on the m2 emulator, it is like the buttons or tracking or something gets messed up for me.

I went into the gun calibrations and I can see it tracking perfectly there.

It seems to stem when I'm playing when I go to shoot offscreen to reload sometimes, and it doesn't actually reload.  Instead the revolver clip just kinda spins around with the bullets still in there.

And it stays in this weird state until I can get a real reload or something like that, and then the tracking works perfect when I'm shooting on screen again until I am out of bullets.

I have noticed that sometimes if I do a quick double trigger pull to reload offscreen that reload works but I can still get into this weird state.

Has anyone experienced this before?  I don't have this issue on either Virtua Cop 1 or House of the Dead.

Well, that was simultaneously the same exact ad (more tame?  ???) and an extremely ---smurfing--- weird video.

Necrobump! I am excited to see what's come of this, that shape has me wondering what it's going to look like.

Alrighty!
I have managed to build the case and get the guns all set up.
Building is fine, I just hate the software side of this.

Already ran into a strange hurdle.. this one being that I launch the game using the aliens deshaped.ex.. I connect one gun to the pc
it says one gun detected and i can calibrate it and play. no problems.
if i connect two guns, the intro screen says 2 guns detected but when calibrating the left gun has no effect at all. only the right player works!
so i guess this has to be run through teknoparrot for 2 player.
maybe the exe has been messed with to make it compatible with a mouse, thus disabling the i.d of player 1s gun so that it passes the check but isnt enabled any further perhaps.

running it through teknoparrot using direct input seems to be all good, except the crosshairs wont go exactly to the edges of the screen, even after calibrating in both windows and in the game itself.
the crosshairs are also a bit glitchy/twitchy randomly in teknoparrot.
but at least player 1 (left) is working now

i have made a full audio mod for this game if anyone is interested changing almost all sfx and music and even all fmv files music and sfx to be more authentic to the movie
You can set up control via directinput in teknoparrot and both weapons will work. This method is also suitable for Far Cry

Yeah, so that’s Sharon Stone’s face shopped onto someone else’s body.  And nobody has ever proven that ad is real.

 :dunno

Joe from Game Sack YouTube channel showed off the original ad in a magazine. The model's name is Brandy Ledford. The segment is during the ending skit.

There was an alternate version with a more tame screenshot found in this Compute! Magazine from July 1991.

I am not trying to hate on anyone, but, maybe just buy a tankstick and your done.. While it does have 8 buttons.. maybe swap one of them out for a spinner or something.. They are made to be portable and many many people have dropped them into a Pedestal..

Just a thought,

All the best with your project!!

No hate taken from it...  It's a valid suggestion, but as I'm trying to do some other stuff like house the PC in it along with a larger external drive enclosure, some extra buttons and ports in the back, etc. I don't think it would work for me.

Exactly, We had problems with Midway 3D games but Calamity found solution for strange speed and sound stuttering. Just get latest groovymame and re-create default configuration. With recommended groovymame settings game should work fine now.

So I just upgraded to .276 this morning and I am still seeing the same stuttering sound issues unfortunately.

Any ideas on the specific settings that may need to be set for this game?

EDIT:

I tried setting these from a post of yours from a while back, so that's what I currently have.

waitvsync 1
sync_mode 0
refreshspeed 0
syncrefresh 0
throttle 1

Changing waitvsync setting from 0/1 is noticeable as far as screen tearing goes in this game.

Do you think this could potentially be a hardware issue?  i'm running like 10 year old hardware basically, and one of my RAM slots on the motherboard is busted so I only have 8gb of ram in there instead of the 16gb that I actually have.

I found out recently that TC2 has been working well on MAME for a little over a year or so now aside from some graphical issues.

This morning I upgraded my GroovyMAME to the latest version and tried running TC2 on there.

It runs and plays however it is running like it is in slow motion or underwater.  But aside from that, everything appears to be working fine from the few minutes I played.

Does anyone know how to fix this?  Or is this a hardware issue?  My PC hardware running this is probably like 10 year old tech at this point so perhaps that is the issue?  I haven't had any hiccups on any other games though just this one.

Are there any instructions on what all is needed to upgrade versions for GroovyMAME?

I want to go from my current version and keep all the settings and everything, but upgrade to a newer version because some of the games work better now than on my nearly 3 year old build.

Do I just have to do the full crtemudriver setup with the new version of GroovyMAME or is there something much simpler I can do with just moving some files from the old directory to the new one?

Thanks.

EDIT:

n/m I got it.
