jamma xx in 1 boards

gazz292:
I have a golden tee 98 cab, jamma wired, going to mame it but wont be able to complete it for a while as money is tight.

so i was thinking about getting one of those xx in 1 jamma boards, and a few joysticks, adding the joys to the cp, plug the multi game jamma board in and be able to play a few games whilst i save up for the rest of the gear i need to do the mame project,

would do the cp first, and connect up just a couple of joys and the trackerball and buttons to the jamma harness, then get the bits for the pooter to run mame, and get rid of the jamma stuff.

however i've had a look at whats available on ebay, im in the uk, so not a lot really, just a few 60 in 1 boards brand new, and an old 30 in 1 board,
but they all seem to have vertical games on them, and say in the listing for vertical monitors only.

would there be any way to play the vertical games on the horizontal golden tee monitor without rotating it? not looked closely but it seems the golden tees monitor is more square than the old monitors used to be.

CheffoJeffo:
Nope.

Malenko:
well, you could turn your head but ,yeah, no.

gazz292:
Good idea that, i'll put the cab by me bed, than play vetrical games laying down...sorted  :notworthy: :)

Suppose i'd best go out and have a look at the cap properly and see if the monitor can be put in verticaly... it's an electrocoin zeon cab.

now i'm thinking about a rotating monitor.

Turnarcades:
Do you really want to limit yourself to just vertical games with limited viewing and game options? If you're gonna MAME, do it properly with a PC and you can enjoy the best of all worlds. If you're going with simplicity you will be severely limiting yourself, but if you really must then search and you will find better multi-game jamma boards from the continent that cater both horizontal and vertical games on a horizontal monitor. Personally for the several hundred quid you're likely to part with, you'd be better off looking at a full PC setup.
