What's the low down with these 60 in 1 JAMMA boards?
FrizzleFried:
They're cheap... in both quality and price. You DO get what you pay for. That said, they're easy and surprisingly, I've heard of few problems with them (most being with static sound). If you're looking for a quick way to play a few classics in a vertical cab, this may be the way to go for you.
Just keep in mind that many of the games have sound emulation issues... some worse than others. Some are so bad I personally can't play them without being completely annoyed (Gyruss and Super Cobra I am looking at YOU)...

Nuff said!!
Was just curious. It's no longer a thought.....thanks for the info. :)
NOP:
so if they are technically illegal (selling roms+mame together) can we/should we report them via ebay and make the seller's lives a little more miserable?

These are unarguably illegal. It appears to me that eBay turns a blind eye to these things when it benefits them. Christmas time means big money. eBay is overloaded with these things right now. Reporting is simply a waste of your time. I have one and agree with Friz, you do get what you pay for. The sounds on most games are "off" and the HS table is hoaky at "best". But a cool thing for people with limited space. Hmmm .... might as well build a MAME machine if that's the case huh?
CheffoJeffo:
I wouldn't go so far as "overloaded" as they get picked off fairly regularly since Namco like to report them.
FWIW, I have both a 48-in-1 and a 60-in-1 and like them both well enough. Gyruss is the only game on there that bugs me, but I can live with it and they both see more play than my vertical MAME ever did (dunno why ... saw the same thing with my NeoGeo ... got played more than the horizontal MAME did).
