CRT rca to vga troubles

(1/4) > >>

cipriani2k:
Upon hooking up my vga to rca cable, my monitor is resembling a sort of black and white chopped up version of my desktop. Are there any cheap way to go about fixing this problem? My graphics card isnt great by any means, and its not supported in soft15khz. I have a base understanding of the problem and the only thing i can think of is a converter. Any alternatives for my situation Id be willing to give a shot. Id prefer not to get a new graphics card if possible.

cipriani2k:
Its not actually even a dedicated graphics card i guess, its a intel 82865g graphics controller if that helps.

RayB:
Read the Wiki about this! PC's output 31khz (or is it hz?) signals. Arcade monitors take 15. You are damaging your monitor.

cipriani2k:
Im aware of the whole 15khz for arcade monitors but this is just a regular tv im talking about.

speedklz:
What are you using to adapt the VGA to the tv?
