What's everyone using for speakers?

+1 for the 2.1 speakers.  They sound great and the subwoofer is usually adjustable.

With mine however, I made sure that there was a separate volume control controller wire.  It makes it a lot easier.  I run mine underneath my control panel on the outside of the machine.  I just reach under when I want to adjust the volume or tweak the bass.

I have a 2.1 ba735 pc speakers that I replaced the main speakers with a pair of 6x9's and kept the sub woofer.

Works perfect and required very little work to get working with windows.

The first years they used analogue wave generators, which do not have a bit rate at all. But I can tell you, these classics sound way more impressive then ever on my two 180 watt Canton towers! Maybe not comparable to the original used PC-beeper, but hi-fi systems sound better than 2.1 PC sets I can assure you.

with a price tag to match, there really is'nt any difference except cost..

IE: you keep saying "PC speaker" OR "PC sets" when in actuality there are some high end sets you can buy for your computer.

it's all about cost rather then some fundamental defect in speakers geared for computers they're just usually cheaper is all.

you're right there is a difference between a 50 dollar set for your computer and a 500 dollar setup.

in most cases i'd have to agree though that the difference will be lost on most of us especially without side by side comparison and would completely destroy most peoples budgets.

High end needs 12-15cm drivers at least. So there are no high end computer sets. Just plain physics limitation.
