Another Ultimarc ArcadeVGA will not install thread pictures !
ctozzi:
I am writing this thread to update those of you looking to buy an Ultimarc ArcadeVGa Card. I am going to document these issues step by step so others can see what's going on. I have read all sorts of threads online and nothingworks so here goes:
FYI Gateway E-series w/open AGP video card slot Windows XP Pro w/SP3 authentic.
I had a Dell and Andy from Ultimarc told me it's not compatible with a Dell so now it's gotta be the Gatewat right ? Ha Ha
1. install the agp card in the open AGP slot computer boots into windows load screen and the bar freezes
2. tried to boot into safemode with card installed and below is what happens
3. tried installing the drivers with the arcadevga card not installed and i click on setup to install the driver and nothing happens it just opens the folder and automatically closes it
4. Boot into safe mode arcadevga card not present and try to load the drivers, see all the attcahed pictures to see what each step says and then quits the install.
I wanted to document all this since so many people have issues with this and nobody ever posts any answers as to what worked, so if and when i get this figured out I will post the steps to fix or not to fix this issue !
Finchbyrd:
Uninstall the device in device manager. Without rebooting, download and install directx 9. Turn off the pc. Pull the card. Turn on the pc and in bios disable integrated video. Save and turn off the pc. Install the card and plug the dvi adapter into the dvi slot, plug the vga cable into that. Turn on the pc. Hit cancel. Put the cd in and install the driver based on your windows (xp 32 or 64, vista 32 or 64). Reboot. It now works.

the card is never installed and able to be used at all the crazy screen is what happens when i put it in, so i cannot unistall the deive since it was never installed and working ever. So i am confused on your response also it's the 1st generation arcadevga card without a dvi slot it only has vga and s-video ports,
Finchbyrd:
Sorry, my previous post I was aggrivated at something. I'm not sure then, I had all kinds of hell installing mine because of the integrated video. It may be a chip problem when it was flashed by Andy, I have no clue. Keep us updated on the problem/solution.
Ummon:
I think you should disregard your experience, and try exactly what ct suggested, minus pulling the card as it's already not in there. Don't reason, just try it.
