Turbotwist 2 Mini-wheel?

<< < (3/3)

I'm still new to Mame, and I'm building my cabinet now.  I'm thinking about putting a spinner, especially now that I see you can attach a wheel.  My question is how do you guys use the wheel for the driving games?  What emulate the gas and brake?  i'm assuming you just use buttons for the gas and brake, along with the wheel? Probably a stupid question, but I had to ask it just in case you guys have a better idea.  I saw one control panel that somebody made with the spinners on an angle.  Awesome idea!!

Turnarcades:
If going this route, you can simply assign buttons within comfortable reach as accelerator and brake functions, and a couple more as gear shift buttons. Alternatively, you can use one of your joysticks as a shift stick if you want to add a little more realism. If your spinner is placed close to the centre of your panel, you should easily find comfortable controls within reach either side of the wheel, so you can assign butons for both left and right-handed play.

Thanks for all the replies.  I feel more confident about getting the spinner w/ the wheel and will definitely go for the 7" model.

Also FWIW, I plan to use computer pedals for racing games.  I imagine that would work, just a matter of connecting the pedals as a joystick and the spinner as a mouse.

there are 2 types of pedal analog and microswitch make sure you get a microswitch unless you have a hook up for Analog, i think your better off with analog but if yo dont have an A-pac then just get a microswitch pedal. Driving controls can be tricky there are alot of different combination you come up against. Thats why im building a seperate panel with 2 types of wheels and swappable shifters,
