Dreamcast Stick modificiation & Naomi project
(1/1)
elaverick:
Hi,
Just discovered the Cthulhu PCB online today and having an old Dreamcast arcade stick lying about I've decided to mod it for my PS3 (I'm tired of getting thumb cramp play SFIV and MvC2).
Thankfully this has also left me with the PCB from the stick going spare... just as I'm building a cabinet with a Naomi MoBo, so my plan is to use the Arcade stick PCB as a cheap and cheerful VMU socket. My only problem is that I can't find a UK based supplier for the connectors. I've not got the Naomi unit yet (it's sat in the Royal Mail sorting office right now... should be here tomorrow!) so I'm having to go with some info from Sega-naomi.com atm. Looking at the diagrams I've seen it looks like I need a 12 pin connector for CN6 on the Naomi side and possibly a 5 pin connector for the PCB side (that way I don't need to knacker the DC cable). Anyone got any hints on where to look for these?

Just for anyone that finds this post later and is looking for similar connectors, SegaShed have the connectors I was after - http://triplemoonstar.brinkster.net/segashed/

I got my AMP conectors from Andy at Sega Shed too, top bloke. :)
If you want to know what the pinouts from the Naomi MB are I posted them in the Dreamcast/Arcade thread [here].

Ah thanks for that. I *think* I'm going to try and lay my hands on a Capcom I/O adaptor as I'm building a CPS-2 compatable cab and it'll slot in nicely along side my A-Board, but this should be good in the mean time to allow me to rig up a test.
