Ultrastick 360 question **I'll drag this thread back to ask another question**

(1/1)

Sir Headless VII:
I plan on getting a pair of U360s and hooking them up via ipac and usb to both mame and my old ps2 (I'll put in a switch to switch which it controls). Will I have to constantly be fiddling with it to get it to switch modes automatically when connected to my computer but work as an 8 way when connected to the console adapter?

BONUS QUESTION: Is there a difference between the usb and ps2 versions of the ipac? can I just plug in a usb cable even if i order one with a ps2 cable?  I will probably want to switch back and forth.

Ginsu Victim:
In my frontend, I have it set to always switch it back to 8-way when I exit a game and when I exit the frontend. That way it's always 8-way when not in a game.

There is no difference, the boards auto-detect the type of interface and switch operation accordingly.

Sir Headless VII:
One last thing (this is likely not the last thing) if I plug a cable into both ps2 and usb ports will it detect which is sending a signal (ie can I leave my pc and console plugged in at the same time and make sure I only turn one on at a time) or does it detect based on which port has something plugged in.

This has been talked about a bit, but I forget what the result was....
