Re: Renamed into "TFTC problems"
pinballwizard79:
Thats the "everything except the GI lights" connector...when I pull that plug all goes dead (again other than the lights).
No DMD, CPU board or anything runs when I pull that.
pinballwizard79:
I swapped my WWF power supply board with the TFTC power supply board to see if I could narrow it down to the PSB.
Well so far the only heat on the brown TFTC clip appears to be second hand from the grey square thing near the heat sink...so long story short its not "hot" any more.
So I looked @ the working but unstable PSB (unstable after a few games mind you) from the TFTC & noticed a fuse that looks strange, there are brown spatters inside it. Then I realize its a 8a fuse in a 7a socket. When I look @ the underside of the board I see what looks like a little bit of caramel so maybe that slow blow fuse with a higher rating let too much juice through?
I dunno, maybe its something else with the board? 1a seems a bit trivial but then again its 7a not 8a for a reason no?

Rottendog has a replacement board for $75. Definitely worth the upgrade, as it has additional safety features.
pinballwizard79:
Sheesh, I get one problem fixed & as I am backing away I get a new issue.
Every single switch in the row is dead, not a single missing connection to be found.
Its searching for balls, weak.
I had this happen before but it was a diode & I was able to trip the switches with a screwdriver IIRC.
Any ideas?
this sucks, its all ready to play & tuned up great...my first FULL game was going to be tonight

...not if he isn't even willing to check the coils to see if any are hot. He keeps asking for advice and then ignoring it.
