is this a bootleg?
jackspicer:
I picked up another galaga pcb but it has 36 pins does that mean its a bootleg? and does anyone know if it plays like the original one?
AND RIGHT HERE THERES SOMETHING MISSING?
Kevin Mullins:
Any manufacturers markings or numbers silkscreened on the pcb ?
No = bootleg.
HaRuMaN:
Looks like you're missing a cap, 100 microfarad. Just like the ones above it.
Beretta:
i do not know if that is a bootleg..
it certinly looks like one, with the chips spaced out so far, but i dont know what the original board looked like..
also those jumper wires are very interesting i would'nt expect to see them on an original.
look on the board for some markings if it has no markings (PRINTED) not sticker then i would be suspect of it.
as for game play should play ok if the hardware matches up the boot leg is just a hacked & ripped off rom set.
although i know from reading that game was ran on several different hardware those might have been changed more then just it's protection, i would imagine would still play close if not the same..
if it does'nt play the same in the arcade who would play it? the op would'nt make much money if it ran choppy or something.
jackspicer:
No i dont see any markings or anything, why do you think that the cap was cut? should i replace it? And i just found this on mikes arcade http://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/spies.cgi?action=url&type=pinout&page=Galaga36.txt
