I ordered solid black ones from Japan.
They look really nice compared to the gray/orange ones.

All the UK ones I have had were just grey - I never realised they went the same route with the G-con tips as they did on some other guns back in the day - like anyone mistook them for real guns...  :laugh:

I may build a dedicated PS1 light gun cab one day - with the TV recessed like the arcade version to avoid cheaters!

While true, all the arcade units Namco made, using guns of similar mold to the Guncon, used cotton candy pink and cotton candy blue, even for the Japanese units.  I thought it'd be neat to disassemble the shells and pair the pairs to the same colors.  It'd also help in differentiating which gun is for which player.  I've seen at my events and cables getting coiled around each other, people sometimes get confused.  That and, ya know, it'd be neat.

In that case, I think it'd be a LOT easier to repaint light grey plastic over black plastic. :)
