Need a motor

Franco B:
What type of monitor are you trying to rotate? Did you see the LCD rotational awesomeness in Onds build? [Linky link]

Im turning a 21" LCD. the problem is the motor turns a friction wheel and I think the sheer weight and inertia is to much, so I decided to go to a chain drive.

Franco, just saw that link and that could be an idea to try also. I already have the h-bridge and actuator switches. My whole rotating mechanism probably cost less than 75 bucks, so Ond's price tag of $500 is a bit high.

SavannahLion  I do have an old cordless drill lying around I might tear that apart. The windshield wiper motor might be a way to go also. A few rotating cab people have recommended that one. I might have to head over to the junk yard.

Blanka, at this stage I am seriously rethinking that choice. But between my rotating mechanism and monitor i spent less than 150 bucks. to get a monitor, like a WG or so would be at least 3 times as much so, frustration aside Ill stick to this until i can find a deal on a big monitor.

DaOld Man:
The shear "wow factor" alone is worth the extra effort of a rotating monitor, IMHO.
