Such pathetic & Childish comments.  What a sad joke.

I think most would rather hang out with DDR Dude than the uvula's
in this thread...

Seen a few of these converted DDR/Dancing Stage cabinets on ebay recently. Someone on this side of the pond must have offloaded a load recently. Wouldn't be too bad to convert one of these cabs for either Groove or Stepmania, but the cabs themselves are still too expensive to pick up cheap normally. Be easier to build one using a metal dance pad, a fat sub and sound 12v neons.

Thats what I thought when I saw DK running on what, if complete, would still be a $6k machine. I was a huge DDR player for the better part of two years and I'd kill for a dedicab...

A while back, my friends and I attempted with some success to build a DDR pad. It worked pretty well; however, we made some mistakes while cutting the plexi for the foot-pads that kept one or two of them from working 100%. This could have easily been fixed if we had more plexi and re-cut it, but we didn't have the money to spend at the time.

If you can't tell from the picture, we spent very little on the project.

Anyway, my point is that one could easily build the metal dance pads as well (Instead of purchasing them).
