Need help with deciding console controller
Bender:
you are right on the n64 buttons
I think the wingman would play all the emu's you listed
the batteries are replaceable (3 AA)
it also has a rumble feature
cheaper than $10?
it does have dual analogs as well
I wonder if there is a corded version?
dkubarek:
I have a Philips corded PC controller that looks just like a PS2 controller. It has two analog sticks, too. It doesn't have all the buttons you need for N64. It has as many buttons but they are not in the same spot. I think you will run into that with Playstation controllers since a lot of people didn't like the button design on the N64 controller. I also think my analog sticks are too sensitive. It's hard to play games like Golden Eye because aiming is hard to do. I guess it's calibratible but I haven't figured out how to get it right. Still, I don't play much N64 and love it for PS and computer games. It was $15 and includes both X-Arcade style keystroke signals and gamepad signals (you toggle between the two), a program for button remapping and also dual shock rumblers but I haven't gotten them to work in the few games I play.
Infernarl:
You could use a real N64 controller
and either go the route of making your own adapter (More fun):

or buying a pre-made one (less fun):

Bender I ended up going your route...I went on amazon and I looked up controllers and adapters...Some of the reveiws I saw where the sellers were not so honest....and I was driving through town saturday and I saw a Radio Shack, went inside and got a logitech pc controller on sale for 12 bucks...hooked it up and it works like a charm....
