NewEgg Help with Barebones

(1/3) > >>

Chunce DeLeone:
I am building a Juke and want a Micro ATX pc.  Nothing crazy but really cheap.  So I have been looking at Newegg and there are a couple of choices, Barbones PC's, Motherboard/CPU & Motherboard / CPU / VGA Combo Deals.  I do not want a case for this PC because it will be housed inside a Juke.  So if I go with Motherboard / CPU / VGA Combo Deals and have a HD and monitor, all I would need is a Powersupply and ram?  Is there a choice to search NewEgg or some other site like it for Motherboard/CPU/Memory/Powersupply without a case?  If you see any good deals please post.

Use my build, I built it to be as high powered as possible on the cheap.

You can cut out the HTPC extras like the remote/keyboard/mouse/case you can use a much smaller hard drive, and then get a decent PSU your looking to get away cheap.

You want to go with a low power cpu like that one because it runs cooler and uses less power.  Cheaper power bill and less need for a good psu and less need for good cooling, same goes for the hard drive.  The new green drives are great.

I picked that mobo for HTPC due to its high end IGP and multiple video out methods, you can shave some $$$ with a cheaper mobo too but I highly recommend that one even if it is a bit more than what you may need.

Thanks for the info,  thats looks like a good deal.  I just noticed Mini ITX MB's,  are these any good?  Also what kind of powersupply would hook into these?

Here is a pretty sweet deal, depending on if the speed is up to snuff for you.

Still need memory (seen newegg had a 4 gig set for under $50 and plenty of PSU are under $50, and vid card? plan on running any other emulators? modern stuff?  lots of ok cards for just under $50 and plenty of very good ones in the $100 area.

Several people have reported pretty good OC's with the above MB chip combo (if you do that type of thing).

Good luck

Same as normal, its just a different format board.  If its any good depends on the specs & price of the board.
