Need Hard drive space?

The 1.5TB drives are okay if you have the newer firmware.  Firmware SD15, SD17 and SD18 are bad, but SD37 (I think) and CCxx are okay.  I'm running five of them with no problems.  All backed up, of course.  ;)

You can run the serial number through Seagate's web site to find if you have an affected drive.

I think I'll be going back to WD for the 2TB drives.

I'm hoping that's the case, but I haven't heard any data to back that up yet (other than your own, of course). Any links to independent review or posted user reviews?

Hmmm. I was thinking of getting a 1tb, but someone said to hold out for the 1.5s . I guess I'll either go 1 or wait for 2.

Pfft! Amatuer ... we've got a 20gb and a 40gb in our main machine, and a single 20gb in my Wife's work machine  :laugh2:
