Did my first MAME update in years - any good new games?

(1/3) > >>

atog:
I stopped updating each version back in 2003 or 2004 so it has been a while.  This past weekend I updated to the newest build, wow we have come a long way!  I probably wound up with 80 gigs worth of files.

Once I was finished I started going through the list to see what new games have been added that I would like to have on my arcade machine.

I didn't come up with many new titles that I would like to play (there were probably 1000 new mah-jong titles since I last updated however)

What I did find was :

Metal Slug 4
Metal Slug 5
Progear (cool looking side scrolling flying shoot em up)

That was it.  I did see that gauntlet dark legacy and gauntlet legends were added, but when I tried to run them it said I didn't have the right files, plus I doubt the old pc inside my arcade would run them well anyway.

So for you guys who do a lot of updates, can you think of any other cool games that I should add besides the three above?

What version did you update from and what version did you update to?

Anyhoo, you can go to mameworld.net/maws and do a deluxe search to
find out which games have been added/updated from version to version...

atog:
I believe I went from .083 to .129.

Thanks for the search, I took a look and it's a lot of fighting games and gambling type games and not much else.

That's kind of why I quit updating back in 2003 or so, it seemed like each new release just added a bunch of gambling games.  Most of the good stuff had already been emulated by that point.

Hoopz:
Golden Tee was added in .92.  I think that's an item to note.

TAG:
They've started adding the laserdisc games, including FireFox -- which hadn't been emulated by Daphne.
