Jamma questions
Necroticart:
I want to make a scratch built jamma box to have MK1-4 plus Mame in I have used an ipac to build a Mame cabnet before so i know how that works but as a jamma setup I'm a little confused and want to make sure I got the right idea of how to accomplish this project from what I gather I can hook up my controls a jamma harness then to the 6-in-1 MultiJAMMA Switcher PCB on jammaboards.com and hook the power supply to it then connect each of my Mk games to the board and a Jpac for Mame then use the RGB / CGA to VGA Converter PCB off the same site to hook it up to an LCD TV does this sound right or am I missing some thing
AndyWarne:
Your config sounds OK.
Check the picture quality of the CGA to VGA converter though. These are generally not renowned for great quality video.

then is there another device I can use to get the best PQ i want to hook this up to a 47" LCD Samsung HDTV so I want it to look great
AndyWarne:
Unfortunately there is no real option for connecting a JAMMA board to a TV other than a scan converter unless the TV has a European SCART RGB connector.
Its possible some are better than others but I have seen some really bad ones.

I used to have a cga to vga converter board and it worked very well. I used it with a neo-geo and mortal kombat 2 with no problems other than having a little trouble with centering the picture on MK2. I could get it to either cut an inch off th e bottom or an inch off the top. The one I had looked like the one Yaton sells on arcademvs.com, but I don't know if it was the same model.
