Hey Gang! I just recently purchased a dedicated MKII with the factory installed Hanatrex Polo25.

It performed flawlessly at the previous owners house as we duked it out for a bout a half hour, but once I got it home I was alerted to a potential problem... Ok, actually I nearly shat my pants

! The monitor arced like CRAZY, the screen went blurry and it crackled so loud I though Raiden was coming out of the side art to finish ME!
So naturally I shut her down and took a look around. Everything appeared ok... ( considering I know very little about CRTs aside from DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING! ) So the following day I powered her back up and played for about 20 min and SNAPPP!! Again, but this time one quick arc. SO, I plopped ---my bottom--- down on the cold basement floor and waited... And waited...
And waited...
Played a few games... Waited... Messed with the test menu and SNAPPPP, CRAAAACKLLLLLE and sure... POP!!! This was one intense episode. It lasted long enough for me to actually see where the problem was, and breath in a nice face full of ozone...

Anyway, the arc appeared to be jumping from either the anode suction cup or the point where the red wire meets the cup to one of the metal straps about an inch below which wraps around the contour of the back of the tube.

It wasn't until I borrowed the wife's camera that I discovered the true source. See for yourself.
Closer look

My guess is this is not so horrible. I mean, the chassis is ok as well as the tube right? What do you guys think? Can I repair this or should I contact Bob Roberts for some new parts?
THANKS!!!
