I'm trying to get my first Non MAME up and running with JAMMA Harness Help me !
mrclean:
OK first off i have since removed a dead monitor, replaced it with a brand new happ 19'', i have placed the pcb inside , bought a capcom classic to JAMMA Adaptor, and then purchased a JAMMA harness. I have read various sites exmp: bob roberts etc.. explaining what certain colors are etc, but maybe someone here can furthur help me get this thing running.
I know the one with the white molex type connecter red green blue black and white is for the monitor but my happ monitor seems to have an extra yellow ? and this adapter doesn't plug into that spot on my monitor board what do i do ?
Ok here is a picture of bundle 1 they have little hook type connectors which look like they would go to my power supply, but i don't know what's what in terms of hooking up 5+ 12+ 5-, I thought i also needed another one?? not sure for ground ? very confused

For your power connections (and double check this with a meter) you should have red for +5V, Yellow for -5V, Orange for +12V, and of course black for ground.
From your picture, it looks like you are missing +12V?? That's odd to me. some games you can do without the -5V, but the 12V would seem like the more likely to be there.
As for your video, it depends on what the PCB is supplying and what the monitor is looking for. I think I remember Bob Roberts saying he liked to have the RGB in a 3 pin connector, and the Syncs in a separate connector, so he could skip a pin depending on if the setup required Vert Sync, Horiz Sync, or Composite. You may need to move a pin within your connector, or make a jumper

I can't tell from the picture of the harness. Is the 12V (Orange) wire perhaps in the bundle headed towards the coin door?
Tim N.:
Picture of your Monitor Input connector would be helpful to see what issue you are having- Whether it is the size of the harness pins, or simply just the length of the harness....I have run into some non-standard size harness pins that I hade to make standard size to work with most monitors... If it is simply length, it is easy enough to cut down the harness to make it work...But again, pictures of your situation would help...
For your Jamma harness, follow the wires back from the jamma harness to the power supply and use this as your reference: http://www.coin.demon.co.uk/jamma.htm Note: you will have multiple 5 and 12 volt wires running to your power supply, this is normal...

I have no idea which one is even the coin door bundle.. and those hook "u" shaped wires i one see black, red, and yellow
these are wires off the happ monitor :
wires with connector off JAMMA Harness (Missing yellow ?)
maybe i just have a bad wire harness ??? this is a close up :
OK after viewing this : http://www.jammaboards.com/guides/JAMMA-H1_REV2.pdf
it looks as though obviously i'm missing a wire black is ground which i knew, red is +5v, and yellow is +12v, i'm missing the green one which is -5v is this imperitive ??
clearly i'm missing that green -5v : this is the image off jamma boards:
also here:
is an accesory outlet that i have, when i brought the machine home it was working if i plugged a lamp into it or anything for that matter, its not not working, is it related to not having a -5v hooked up to my power supply ?
