Arcade power supply problem/fix
payment_due:
Morning all! It's been quite a while since I posted on this site, but I recently came into ownership of an arcade cabinet. Found it free on craigslist, and it's a Street Fighter II conversion. =) The 'seller', or I guess I should say 'giver' stated that the machine no longer powers up.
I powered the machine on, and got absolutely no response what-so-ever. No noise, no 'whirr' of the monitor starting up, no fan in the power supply (if any), no crackle, nada.. So that means it's either a bad power supply, or a bad fuse.. but the problem is I don't know where to look for fuses. Does anyone have any suggestions?

No one has any ideas?

23 people have looked at this and nothing?

this is when you need a multimeter and basic fault finding, you need to first check the mains input into the machine and in particular at the psu input
if your mains is present you can then progress to dc voltages, check your +5 and +12
the monitor will have some glow from the neck of the tube if its running
my take on this is that you have a fuse blown somewhere on the mains input
this should take a few minutes with a multimeter to prove where the problem lies

Thanks grantspain, unfortunately I don't have a MM so I can't run those tests. The few people I have talked to mentioned it's most likely a blown fuse, but I can't seem to find *where* the fuse is located. Even the previous owner said he couldn't find one.
