That is why houses have basements. That's also why really old houses have basements that clearly were never meant to be used for much. Go into a 150 year old house up here and you'll see why. It's basically a hole walled up with rocks and mud with a mud floor. Not even usable as storage.

That's called an earthen cellar, and it's good for all sorts of things.

Bah...like I said, it would take me being real drunk and a lapse of judgement AND being near the guys property to do anything (not going to happen, he lives about 15 miles from here).

I think the moral of the story is don't buy Televisions used, and especially Rear Projections used.

I thought earthen cellars were dug into a hillside with the front entrance at ground level but the back below grade? The ones I'm talking about are just like slab foundations but predate concrete. They're made up of rocks placed by hand.
