MAME .126u2 and Capcom CPS2 Games
« on: July 24, 2008, 11:13:39 pm »
I am having an issue with some Capcom titles.  1944 for example,  loads (black screen) then dumps back to the front end,  but the Japanese version works great.   The Japanese version is the boot that uses the standard 1944 parent ROM for most of its info?!?

Same deal with Dungeons & Dragons...loads with black screen,  then dumps back to the front end.

I tested this direct with command line as well... any ideas?

If it works with u1, then it is a regression and should be reported to MAME Testers.

Old, but not obsolete.

OK...I tested about a dozen CPS2 titles.  It seems the PARENT's all do not work but the CLONES do.   Doesn't matter where the parent originated from (USA, JAP, ETC).

...and I have no idea how the new reporting system works.

I have this issue with the latest Nebula on CPS2 games as well.  Parents are broken, clones work.  Kawaks is fine though.

Check other CPS2 titles.  I've tried over a dozen and every parent rom is borked while most clones work.

I've reported it on MAMETESTERS.

Yes, I've tested EVERY single parent in Nebula.  Same deal for them all.  All clones work.  Strange.

Does this affect .126 or just .126u2?

Lettuce,

It's not reported at MAMETESTERS... go report it if you're having issues...I'll test as well when I can get to it.

EDIT: I just played a bunch of CPS2 games on .127 and they all worked flawlessly.
