365 Free PC Games list
erictrumpet:
I just was browsing through this list of free games and found this one. This is totally addictive and I would LOVE to play this on my cab full-screen. Is there any way to extract these flash-based games from their ad-heavy web sites and just play them offline? Even if I could just download the source and run it in the Flash developer software (which I have). Check out this great game... it should be cab-friendly, since it uses only one "button" (space bar), but playing it from the web site is totally lame... I want it full screen on my cab! http://www.thegameslist.com/playgame/204/Metro.Siberia

I was wondering the same thing - I seem to recall there are methods for extracting Flash animations from websites, but not sure about full-on games.
As I've been messing around, I continue to find some more great stuff in this list that I'm going to install on my finished cab.
UPDATE: Metro.Siberia was fun... nice catch.

Thank you! This is a great list. I have tried many of these games in the past and several of the better ones are already on my cabinet. Many are cabinet friendly. For example, Torus Trooper is cabinet friendly. It's nice to see such a big list of them.
I think I posted about Gravitron in the software subgroup once. I don't remember it being adware as suggested here. It's just a well done indy remake. His r-type remakes are good too and are cabinet friendly.
I'll take some time later this summer and go through this whole list one at a time. I'm always on the lookout for free (and better yet, open-source) games that run well on my cabinet. I see lots of familiar names on that list, but many I've never heard of too.
BTW, I'm highly addicted to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. I mean, really, really addicted. It's better than Team Fortress 2 if you ask me. But that one isn't arcady or cabinet friendly.

Blasphemy! Better than TF2?!!
:)
I agree with you - I'm slowly making my way through this list (about 5-10 per day if I have the time) and looking for the downloadable ones that will work great on a cab. I didn't get any alert either for Gravitron for adware but maybe I missed it. I'll try to keep this thread updated occasionally when I find a cab-friendly freebie.

Yes indeedy. I like the pace, physics, and feedback better. Graphics aren't as nice, but playability is better for me. TF2 has some good humor tho.
I should qualify my position by stating that I'm not a huge fan of the Quake / Unreal multiplayer games, so my viewpoint is probably different than the mainstream.

I'll try to do the same. I think that Kenta Cho's games are generally cabinet friendly but I'll have to check again.
