urrr how the hell did you get the bios to display the image!? I have been trying to do that for.... hmmmm... 2 years! ;D

Looks awesome! Did you just design it in photoshop? Is there any specific size, type, etc of file it needs to be?

I want design my own bootskin for both bios and start up but don't no where to start! If I can design it in photoshop then I am saved!

Has anyone managed to do there own shutdown screen? I have been researching this and most people say it can't be done!

for the bios screen, it really depends on your motherboard.  alot of boards do not support this feature, i got lucky and mine does.  there was software on the driver CD that would convert the image and set it as the splash screen.

as for the bootskin, that was pretty simple also.  there are requirements for the file, but i don't remember what they are. (  i think it is 800x600 at 256 colors, but i could be wrong)

and yes, you can do them all in photoshop.  as for the shutdown screen, i'm not sure i know what you mean.  my pc shows the windows desktop image while it is shutting down, and then just goes black and then shuts off.  but then again, i am loading MALA as my shell, so the windows explorer desktop never loads...that may make a difference.

you should read throug the wiki article on hiding windows, it is full of great information and step by step ways to really make windows nearly invisible.

are you running xp? when I do it it shows the windoes is shutting down screen, then turns off. I was wondering if this screen can be replaced with a custom one.

I had read the wiki from before, I agree very useful! The wiki is a fantastic source!

I have a dell gx270, i know i can do a quiet boot so that the dell image just appears (and no POST stuff) but changing the image could be a problem...

yeah, it is xp sp2.  did you disable the welcome screen?  i beleive disabling it, disables the shutdown screen as well.

either that, or it is the section on getting rid of the loading settings pop ups

one of those two things should disable the shutting down notification
