Control Panel Interface Options Index Page
GAJoe:
I recently stumbled across a great website with pictures of all the different controller interfaces used in arcade games and their number of occurences in games that are currently emulated. For instance it has a picture of rotary joysticks and says the number of rotary games there are and lists all the games in question, it also mentions the maximum buttons needed with each interface. I didn't bookmark it (idiot!), but I want to get back to it. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? I haven't been able to reproduce the search I used to find it before, so I hoped someone would already know the site and be able to direct me back there. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure if this is what you're talking about. If not, no worries....it's a better site anyway. (And that's sight unseen)

Nope, not it, though that is an interesting site. The one I'm looking for was just a long page of different types of controls, pictured along with the number of games that used that interface and the number of buttons maximum. There was an entry for 2-way joystick, 4-way joystick, 8-way joystick, rotary joystick, fire button joystick, trackball, flight yoke, etc., etc. It was just a neat site.

The site I posted allows you to search and sort by just about anything.
Control type, screen orientation, number of buttons, players, year, manufacturer, you name it.
There are also photos of the control panels, cabinet, marquee, flyers, screenshots, sideart, etc
GAJoe:
Yes, I know. I looked at it. I'm still looking for the specific site I lost, though. I liked its layout and the fact that it told me not just how many 4-way games there were, for instance, but how many 4-way games there were with two buttons. It wasn't a database, it was more like an encyclopedia of arcade control interfaces.
