Proper term for PC Wire Connectors
Games001:
What would the proper name for these types of plastic connector covers and the actual metallic connectors inside them be?
All these years of building PCs and I have never asked what these were called. :dizzy:

Actually I have tons of them, just wanted to know the names for each item so I could put the info into a write-up about my next control panel.
But thank you for the offer.

I don't think they have a "catchy" name. I ordered some from Jameco a while ago and had a hell of a time searching for them, so I feel your pain. I finally found them, and Jameco calls them "Non-Polarized Connector Housings".

Since these type of cables hookup to header pins on the motherboard, I think they are usually refereed to as header cables. I don't know that that is an official name though.
They have different purposes and they are usually named with their function. For USB it would be "USB header cable". In the picture you attached you have what I would call "PC speaker header cable"and "LED header cable".
