EDIT: just found an ultimarc CD and I get the same message "this display driver is not compatible with the display adapter(s) in your system"....am I doing something wrong?

Kevin Mullins:
Does Windows even recognize that "something" has been installed in the AGP slot ?

May be a BIOS setting in order to use an added graphics card.
(something to that effect anyways)

 :dunno

yea it sees the card and I get a picture from it. Have my LCD hooked up to the DVI port and trying to do a force install in Safe mode but cant get it above 16 colors. Im pulling my hair out. Should there be 2 video adapters shown in devise manager? I see one, originally it said ATI 9200 (ms diver), I ran cat-uninstaller and now it says VGA Card. I forced the AVGA Drivers and it changed to that but cant get over 16 colors.

Is the problem that I installed XP with the AVGA card in there?
