Rotating windows 180 degrees
langdoguk:
Hi there , I'm wanting to put my pc monitor in my cab upside down as it is the easiest way to install for the monitor I have ,but I'm having trouble getting windows rotated correctly. I downloaded Nvidia driver (MX 400) and used the rotate 180 feature ,when I restarted windows the start up and loading screen was not rotated but when it kicked in windows was rotated ,I started up Atomic FE and Mame worked fine , but when I tried Sega (plug n play) and I started the game it was not rotated ,I then tried Arcade Music Box and that said Graphics mode not supported . Is there another way for me to flip windows permanently for everything to work ? I'm using Windows XP .I'm have poor pc skills so please keep it easy. Any help would be great
Happy Easter

The Nvidia driver is designed to rotate the desktop for using with windows programs, once you step outside of programs like Microsoft Word, or similar windows desktop based apps, it will stop working. I'm not sure that it's possible to achieve what you want in software. There is a hardware mod you could do to the monitor to make it work upside down on a permanent basis, but it does require an understanding of monitor electronics.
I really don't understand why you would want or need to put a monitor in upside down. In any case, it may not be good for the monitor to do it.

Thanks for the reply , I'm using a Mitsibushi Diamond Pro 900u monitor ,the reason I want to turn it up side down is that the bottom of the monitor has a built on half moon for the stand and if I take the stand off, it still has the half moon so I thought the flat top would be a good base for it :dunno, I'm a bit worried about de-casing the monitor so I was hoping that flipping it would be an easier alternative . It's quite a good monitor too and I had hoped to use it for this project .

easily fixed.... Just put a couple of pieces of timber on your monitor shelf so that the edges of the case sit on them and half moon sits between them.
The other option is to cut a hole in the monitor shelf and let the half moon sit down into it. But do make sure that any ventilation holes in the monitor case are still free

make sure it won't be more likely to catch fire mounted upside down, as some monitors supposedly are.
