Lutus:
Friend of mine expressed interest in this machine...

Question is:
How does this game run in MAME? Choppy?
Does someone know of a joystick that would be comperable when hooked to MAME?
Or is the only way to do this machine right would be to purchase the game board and original joysticks etc...
Thanks.

Choppy might be complimentary. At this point, you'd be better off just buying the machine.

I seem to recall that game uses this joystick:

Always felt much too light for my liking.

you are of course joking aren't you..... No way will this game run in Mame. It'd require Hardware 3D to be implemented, to even think about running. Mame Devs don't seem to be interested in that.
If you really want it your only hope is to buy a complete machine, 0r buy a complete set of boards and the hard drive and build one.

Lutus:
I do all old school games in MAME. That's why I was unsure as to the state of 3d acceleration and what not.
Will let him know that buying the boards and building the cabinet is the best bet.
