Chankast Problems thru Maximus Arcade...

I can't seem to get Chankast to work through Maximus Arcade.

At first I could not run the wrapper and I had to add library file "Comdlg32.ocx" to my system32 folder. That did the trick for running the wrapper. I have Daemon Tools lite and I know I picked the correct drive letter for the wrapper.

Now when I attempt to run Chankast through MA, my frontend, the screen just turns black. Then when I run Chankast outside of MA it shows that my plugins were switched. The default plugins which end in xxx work just fine but I think the wrapper might be changing them. How do I prevent this??

Running Chankast alpha v0.25
              XP with SP2
              Maximus Arcade v2.0.8

Maximus doesn't support chankast, just download nullDC. Runs way faster and supports chankast plugins to boot.

Actually, it's the opposite.  Maximus Arcade's wrapper is for the Chankast.  Null DC is not supported.

All I know is I love dc, and when I upgraded to the new beta, I just couldn't get chankast working again in max. I hunted and found null dc which in my opinion runs better on newer hardware. Here is the update notes on the 2.10 b2 beta.

Maximus Arcade 2.10 beta 2

      - Right-mouse click accessible menu for exiting game/emulator/frontend available on black screen after launching game
      - Support for Future Pinball 1.6 emulator
      - Support for Raine 0.50.5 emulator
      - Support for Sega Model 2 emulator
      - Support for NullDC emulator (Sega Dreamcast)
      - Support for Capcom Play System 3 emulator (CPS3)
      - Support for Ultra 64 (U64) emulator (Killer Instinct 1/2)
      - Support for Spectaculator emulator (Sinclair ZX Spectrum)
      - Support for NeoGeo CD (cue/iso) in Nebula 2.25
      - Added HD resolution 1920x1080 (1080p)
      - Added extension ".sfc" to SNES scan list
      - Pre-Launch and Post-Launch executables applicable to each emulator setup
            - Command line parameters available
            - Variables %name, %dir, %parent, %desc are available in command line
            - Select window state its launched into (minimize, maximize, hidden, normal)- Command line parameters available for individual games through the 'Game List' tab in preferences
            - Variables %file, %name, %dir, %parent, %desc are available in command line
            - Command line parameters are saved into an easily accessible text file for manual updating
            - Command line overrides emulator generated command line- Refined the history.dat parsing for MAME
            - More sections are filtered properly
            - Increased font size for readability
            - History.dat can now be distributed with MA- Fixed Flash Player (was broken in beta 1)
      - Slightly relaxed the keystroke polling when MA is a background task
      - Added screenshot to movie delay option
      - Tweaked the preferences
      - Fixed miscellaneous bugs

I am enlightened!  Thanks for the info.  I actually tried using Chankast and could not get it running properly (The program is old as their last update was 4 years ago!).

Also, having Daemon Tools running in the background did not seem appealing to me at all.  So I gave NullDC a shot and it worked fairly well, but I did not try to use it with Maximus Arcade.

So to set up NullDC, I would simply setup the Sega Dreamcast dropdown (the same one I used for Chankast) and then just point to the NullDC executable?  Is that all there is too it?

Thanks again for this great info.
