Help with MAME Compiler
« on: February 01, 2008, 06:35:47 pm »
My first question is, when I choose a diff and hit the apply patch button and it scrolls through all these lines of text do I then choose another diff to apply or do I have to do each one one at a time.
My next question is after I hit the apply patch  button and it scrolls through all these lines of text I then hit the go button and it brings up the mamecompiler/mame folder. Then What? I have searched all over this forum to try to find the answer before I posted this question. I know Im missing a step cause I dont see how hitting go does anything to MAME. HELP!!! :banghead:

1) Choose a diff, then hit apply, choose a diff, then hit apply etc. until you have them all applied.

2) Do you have the Mame source code in C:\Program Files\MameCompiler\Mame?

It would help if you pasted the output in your post if you encounter an error again. The output should give you an idea of what your doing wrong.

I do have the source code in the mamecompiler\mame folder.

In the Compile output window it says this

Compiling mame
mingw32*make ***no targets specified and no makefile found stop
Finished

That error means you don't! Are you sure it's the source code and not the binary? There are two downloads from mamedev.org one is the binary and one is the source. You need the source!
