australia, like every developed nation went through the depression. luckily for the rural folk, at the very same time we had a rabbit plague so at least no one starved  ;)

I really should pay more attention to the meetup threads. Since I'm in Sydney during the week and Blue Mountains most weekends this could have been fun. Oh well. Perhaps I'll keep my eyes peeled in future.
