In the uk Maplins has 'em, im sure Radio shack or whatever the equivalant is in the states will too. You just wire it into your speaker input cable and mount it wherever you want on the cab.

Sorry it's been so long in replying to your posts.
waveryder, can you explain this a little further? I'm in the UK and there is a Maplins close by but i don't understand what you're suggesting I do
Thanks

However, if yours is like mine and the volume control is almost impossible to get rid of, you might want to consider getting a keyboard with volume controls on it. Assuming you're working a keyboard into your cabinet, of course. If I need to control the volume (it's not something that needs to be done often, I use my keyboard.

Can you point me in the right direction of a keyboard that does this? I've looked around and cannot find one.
Thanks

well im going with the inline pot jobby !
basicly set the sound on your speakers to a high level where there not fuzzy and put the speakers in your cab THEN the wire taht goes into the speakers you cut in half and stick a pot. in there so you have a volume control of the input
;D

come again? You cut the wire and stick it into a pot? Like a plant pot? Are you winding me up? :dunno
Sorry I just don't understand :banghead:

like a variable resistor but its called a potometer (not sure of spelling).
i tried to get one at maplins last year and i think they didn't do them, may now thou i dunno.
basicly your volue knob is a potometer with a fancy plastic cap on top and all your doing is having a external volume adjuster before the audio reaches the speakers.... you would have to make sure the audio on your pc was on full to get a decent sound thou i presume
