PC to HDTV Video Card Recommendations

MonMotha:
I have yet to see a graphics device made by nvidia in the past 4 years or so that wasn't specified for a max resolution of 2048x1536 which is the highest PC mode VESA ever defined; nobody uses it.  There were some issues back on the GeForce4 and older that limited the DVI output's dot clock because it was cheaper and things with DVI back then couldn't do much more than 1280x1024, but that limitation has long been removed per nvidia's own documentation.

Now if you want to run 3d apps at those high resolutions, yeah, you may be a bit limited, depending on what the app needs.  UT3 on a 6000 series at 1080p would probably be unplayable, but UT2k3 would probably do just fine.
