ah ebay.. always something interesting
Kaytrim:
Hey Chad seeing as you are giving away stuff I'd be up for a playstation with a few fighter games. ;)
ChadTower:
I can do that. I have some of it in plastic drawers. I'll get it this weekend.
EDIT: hrm, maybe it would be easier to snag a small vid of just opening drawers and the like... I just finally figured out how to get my video camera talking to the PC and slapped a really cheesy test vid on youtube for the first time the other day.
Kaytrim... one of the things I don't have a ton of is Sony games. I'm not a big Playstation fan. I think at the moment I have two PS1s, a PSOne, and a fat PS2, but not many games. Had another PS1 I sent to a BYOAC guy as a thank you.
More Cowbell:
Just take a few pics of the 50 or so boxes it would take to hold a collection that is easily bigger than the one in the auction. It will make a great point of reference for the average owner vs. true collector debate.
shardian:
Just imagine all the fundage you'd have to finish all of your arcade projects if you sold off your collection like the ebay guy.
ChadTower:
That collection wouldn't need anything like 50 boxes. You could do that in 20 good plastic bins, I'd think, unless those shelves are somehow part of the collection.
Dude, if someone offered me $9100 for my collection, I'd sell it, deliver it, hook it all up, and throw in a very inappropriate lapdance when I was done.
I'm poking through the itemization now... he's selling old used stuff at high book price estimates... most of that stuff hasn't been worth anything like he says for quite a while now. Console values aren't what they used to be.
His Aquarius stuff is pretty sweet... I don't have any of that, though I did just give away a whole Adam setup, two Atari 400s, an 800, and three bins of TI99 stuff including a NIB TI994/A. I can't match his stuff there now... but looking at his TG16 stuff I can shove his under the rug as I'm one of the only people I know with complete boxed TG16, TurboDuo, and TurboExpress. :)
His collection is definitely bigger than I could see from the pics, so I'll back off on that. He has an impressive collection here. It's roughly the same size as mine was before I started selling off the more obscure stuff and giving away nice stuff that was either of no monetary value or too big to ship. I'll snag some pics of some of my stuff this weekend anyway just for giggles.
